Another project for my friend Ken! This time he needs four simple end tables for his outdoor sitting area. He emailed me a sketch of his idea, I transferred it into CAD to ensure we are on the same page, and after that I was able to get the materials ordered and started cutting away! Here are some pictures to show the process of making the legs.
-
All the tubing for this project. -
Cutting all the legs on my dry-cut saw. -
I cut all the little caps on my plasma cutter and left a little tab for easy grinding. After they were clean, I just broke the tabs to get my little pieces. -
My “3rd hand” is holding the little pieces in place for tack welding. -
All tack welded. -
All welded and ready for grinding. -
My belt grinder comes in very handy for this kind of work! -
All tops after grinding. -
All edges eased with a little radius. -
Drilling all the bottom inserts. -
Power tapping on my mill drill! -
All ready for welding into the legs. -
Here we go! -
Little earth magnets hold the inserts in place for tack welding. -
All the inserts are welded in and finished with the grinder.
