A good client of mine asked if I could make him a little ottoman tray and incorporate a vikings cutout into it. After discussing some options, and him ordering the glass, I was ready to roll. Yesterday the glass piece was delivered to my shop, and here we are, ready for him to pick it up!

After receiving the glass, it was easy to size the matal piece for cutting. -
Little rubber bumpers keep the glass up a little from the steel cutout. -
After rolling a piece of flat stock on my ring roller, I’m ready to start welding. -
First I have to cut a clean start on my ring. -
Here is a closeup. -
Starting to clamp and weld around the ring. The spacers give me the correct height of the cutout within the ring for welding. -

A have a very consistent gap between the steel and the glass all the way around.
