Today I was able to finish the dining table base for my client Ken. Here are some more pictures of the steps necessary to get the job done. Ken will stop by at the shop on Monday to figure out how he wants all the parts finished.
-
Welding the top rail to the vertical piece. -
Both sides are done. -
I had to remove some material to make sure the center rails will fit in flush at the bottom after powder coating. -
Here we go, nice and flush at the bottom of the rails. -
Making sure all is nice and square. -
A closeup of the joint after bolting it together. -
Getting ready to weld the top plates to the legs. -
Another closeup. -
The legs are ready to be welded to the side rails. -
Clamping the pieces together. -
Another closeup. -
Starting to weld everything on one side. -
Standing it up on edge to weld the other side. -
Another closeup. -
Everything is finish welded, and the base is bolted together. -
Another view. -
And another one! -
The base is too heavy to lift it off the table by myself. The forklift makes it easy!
