Because all the tabs and legs are welded in place at the bottom side of the stage frames, there is distortion in the frames. I have to heat straighten the whole setup by adding heat in the appropriate spots to shrink the metal back, Here are some pictures of the process!
I clamped 1″ high blocks to each end of the 12 foot frames, to raise the string off the frame surface.
Here is the other end.
This is the block in the center of the frame showing about a 5/8″ crown in the center of the frame.
I marked all the locations to apply heat to the top of the frame.
I got the tube to red hot glowing with my oxy acetylene torch.
The frame shrunk back quite a bit.
Just a little more heat in some spots.
Very, very close!
After a few mor minutes of cooling down. Here we go, spot on!
