A small job had to get done on Saturday and Monday, but now I’m back on track. Here are some progress pictures of the wheelchair ramp. It’s a great project with some challenging aspects. I love what I do! 🙂
First step was welding the outside skirt to the frame.
Clamping it in place as I went made it very easy.
The seams lined up perfectly!
I cut a template to check the shape of the whole piece.
Lining it up with the top edge.
The gap shows how much I need to add to the plates.
Same on the inside.
Adding vertical, curved sections between the risers.
I bend the pieces with my roll bender.
More pieces are added.
Another view!
Finish welding where I could not reach from the outside.
Having the piece vertical on the table makes it easy.
Adding the first top piece and fitting it to the inside curve.
Starting to weld it in place.
The same piece after finish grinding!
More top pieces welded in place, and more to come tomorrow!
