After working on and finalizing an image to cut, I started the process of fabricating the first panel set. Here are some pictures to show the process!
The panels are cut from 10ga mild steel, and I’m still impressed how clean and consistent the cuts are. To remove the cut off’s, I used a strong magnet to lift the pieces off the table.
Here is the magnet in action!
Here are the front and back panels ready for the next step.
The cut quality is impressive, and the edges are very smooth!
Cutting all the spacers to be welded to the inside of the panles for mounting to the frames.
Holding the spacers in place with a bolt during welding.
Making my rounds around the panel.
Both panels are ready to be bolted together!
Before cutting all the panels I showed them to my client for approval. My friend Mike is holding it in place for us to look at!
The client really liked the effect, and now it is off to the races to get them all done! 🙂
