After cutting all the frame parts, I started to CAD draft and CNC cut the pieces necessary for the next step. The client requested the vertical frame sections to be closed off at the bottom with welded points. This was fun to figure out and to get it done! It took a couple sample pieces to fit them up perfectly! Here are some pictures to show the process!
These were the first pieces that ended up just a hair too big, because I missed to compensate for material thickness.
Here are the pieces recut after making the necessary adjustments. I also cut a little jig to hold the pieces in place for tack welding. I tried it without and I was frustrated in no time!
My little jig works like a charm! The pieces are just leaning against each other.
