After installing the jib crane brackets last week, I needed a little help to lift the jib crane in place. Today was the day, and Mike helped me with his Bobcat to get the crane in place.
Yesterday I had a chance to bolt the post and beam together and hang them on the gantry crane for easy pick up with the bobcat.
It took 15 minutes to get it all aligned and the swivel bolts wiggled in place on top of bearings. It went a lot better then I thought!
Here is the jib crane in its resting position in front of the sheet metal rack. The lifting beam with the magnets are ready to go!
The jibcrane aloows a 180 degree rotation. Here it is perpenticular in front.
And here it is above the location of the 4′ x 8′ CNC plasma table. I’ve been told that delivery is scheduled for next week Wednesday. All that’s missing is the table, my own forklift and some sheet metal, and I will be ready to cut! 🙂
