On Monday I received all the tubing for the metal pallets for my sheet metal rack. Here are some pictures to show the process of building them.
Here is the whole load of material, approx. 1,900 lbs. total.
Some of the tubing was 24′ and 12′ long. It took some effort to move the material to the saw and getting it cut.
But after a few hours it was all cut and ready for some weld preperation.
Getting started with the first frame. I’m running out of space on my welding table.
My little shop jack giving me a hand!
First frame standing up the be finish welded all around.
Moving the first pallet off the welding table. Its weight is about 190 lbs,
One of the many welds.
First one in the rack! Its a start!
Here they are, all done, and in the rack!
I have about 1″ space on each side to slide the pallets in and out. Now I’m searching for a little forklift! It never ends!
A close up of one of the open tubes for the forks to slide in. Now that the rack is complete, all I’m wailting for is the jib crane!
