Yesterday evening, after completing the table base, I received an email with the request to add some shape to the 3/4″ thick steel end panel. After submitting a CAD drawing to Ken, and his approval, I went to work this morning! It’s always a little nerve-wracking to cut into a already finished piece, but it all worked out! Here are the pictures!
-
To ensure a consistent starting point for each cut, I used a piece of 12ga steel as a spacer. -
I was a little nervous about the first cut, but it turned out well. -
It was a lot easier to push the start button for the second cut! -
Cut entry! -
Cut exit! There was minimal beveling during cutting, and I felt comfortable to be able to finish grind the edge, and blend in the entry and exit of cut! -
