I was able to get the last steps on this project completed. The recessed toekick plate was layed out in CAD and the pieces cut on my plasma table. Two months ago I took height dimensions with my laser level in several areas, so I could cut the toekick plate to follow the changing floor height where the stage will be located. Tomorrow morning I will take the stage apart and get it ready for shipping first thing Monday morning. Here are some pic of what I’ve done today!
Here is the toekick plate! 3 pieces are welded together to eliminate all but one visible joint.
The toekick is welded in place!
Here is a closeup of the welds on an adjustable leg.
One of the two welded seams.
These little plates add ridgidity to the toekick.
Here is the one joint of the skirt and toekick where the frames are bolted together.
A closeup of the inside.
This piece is huge and heavy, and I’m glad it turned out the way it did!
It was a lot of work, and I had to keep my thinking hat on at all times. I don’t want to build anything bigger than that by myself in the future!
