I’ve been working long hours every day, hoping to reach the completion of the project by the Novenber 3rd deadline. My youngest son David, an accomplished TIG welder by trade, came a couple times to help me keep things moving along. Here are some more progress pictures!
I spend several hours just drilling all the holes to bolt the farmes together after welding. Now all the frame components are marked for welding. Here are all the horizontal frame members.
Here are all the vertical pieces.
Welding all the frames of the display wall together.
Here is another end frame.
Milling slots into the angles for the shelves to bolt into.
Here is David, having a good time at the shop!
David is MIG welding for the first time in 3+ years. He is TIG welding everyday for a living.
Some tack welds.
He had some fun, and went to town on these frames.
Which was a big help, because I could prepare for the next step.
We finished all the wall frames today.
And started to assemble the wall frames to get ready to fabricate the floating shelves.
Here is a closeup of how the frames are bolted together.
The three center frames received an additional tube on top to add more rigidity and strenght to the overall wall structure.
