Yesterday and today, I had a chance to continue to work on the stage frames, and I have the first one welded up. Monday I will start the second one. Here are some pictures to show the process!
Continuing to tack weld additional frame members into place.
All the inside pieces are tack welded in place, and I’m welding the joints on this side of the frame, while making sure that the frame stays square as much as possible.
I clamped the frame to my rolling pipe stands to get it off my welding table.
I’m so glad I added some casters to them. They have become invaluable in the shop to move big pieces around.
Hooking the frame up with some lifting slings to the forklift, to get it off the stands and flip it over to weld the other side.
Ready to put the frame back on to the pipe stands.
Welding all the joints on this side of the frame.
Welding all the inside corner joints. Its nice to be comfortable while welding, and I can lift it or lower the frame to get it to the right height for me welding these areas.
All welded and the joints are ground flat. Ready for the second frame to be started on Monday!
