In a meeting on Monday, the concept of the adjustable planter bases had been approved. After finalizing all the details, I had a chance to go to work. Here are some pictures of the process, very similar to the sample base, I posted last week. Enjoy!
Fist step was cuting all the base plates out of 1/2″ thick steel plate om my CNC plasma table.
Next was drilling and tapping the holes for the adjustable feet.
All holes drilled and tapped. I’m so glad, that tapping on my mill drill is working so nice!
Drilling all the center holes for the floor anchor.
After cutting all the base sides out of 12ga steel sheet metal, and some cleanup of the parts, I was ready to start welding.
Tack welding the base sides together.
Finish welding all the outside corners.
After a lot of finish grinding, I was able to weld the base plates in place. All done and ready for delivery to the jobsite tomorrow morning!
