I had a chance to cut to pieces for the top roller section out of 1/2″ steel plate yesterday. Today I continued to work on these parts with drilling, milling, and some edge grinding. The goal was to be able to assemble to top section for a trial run on a track, clamped to my table from some left over pieces. Here are some pictures of the process!

The pieces are cut and ready for the next step. The plate is going back into the rack.
I started to drill all the holes for the wheels and the attachment bar.
These elongated holes will allow height adjustment for the rubber wheels below the track.

Here are the parts, except the rubber wheels, ready for assembly and a trial run.
This is a view of the backside.
A closeup of the front, showing the wheel assembly bolted to the attachment bar. This bar will be mounted to the actual ladder.
I had some leftover pieces of steel angle to simulate a track.
It is coming together nicely!
The elongated hole at the bottom will receive a rubber wheel, running under the track as a safety feature.
