I had the chance to build another swivel frame for a rotating cabinet, based on the design of my first ones built earlier this year. The customer liked the ridgidity and smooth motion of the hardware so much, that he is planning to use this concept in other projects. This one is for a single, rotating bookcase, to conceal a hidden entry into a safe room. Here are some pictures of the finished swivel frame.
Here is the finished frame on my welding table.
This is the top swivel with an integrated stop for the closed position of the cabinet frame. The stop is adjustable with a threaded rod and rubber bumper.
Here is the bottom swivel.
The bottom swivel has the stop for the open position of the cabinet frame.
Some welding nuts fused to the bottom plate to fasten the cabinet into place.
Some welding details of the bottom corner of the cabinet frame.
The other side.
