I’ve had this opportunity to cut table inserts with the logo of a local brewery a few weeks ago. After seeing two sports team LED signs I recently made and posted on Facebook, one of the two owners contacted me, and ordered two LED signs with their logo. This is another fun project! Both signs are 47″ in diameter, and quite substantial. Here are pictures of the process of fabricating the two pieces. I had the signs cut a few days ago, but yesterday evening I started to work on them.
These are the table iserts I had a chance to cut a few weeks ago. I still had the file, so it was easy to scale it to the new size and into a round shape.
I had the signs cut a few days ago, but yesterday I rolled some 2″ flat stock for the outside rings.
Marking the offste of the ring all around the plates.
I started tack welding the ring following my line and ended up with a nice overlap.
Marked the cutting line and started with a cutting wheel, and then did the rest with my new sawzall.
Worked like a charm!
Clamped the two pieces flush and secured them with a small tack weld.
All welded!
All cleaned up!
The outside rings completely welded in place!
Another view!
Drilling the hole for the power cord.
The hanging strips after cutting them on the plasma table.

Marking the bends before rolling the strips on the roll bender.

All of them done, and ready for painting!
