My growing selection of angle grinders is in need of organization! I searched the web for ideas and found some, but nothing I really liked. Here are some pictures of starting the process to come up with my own solution.
Here is my current collection of angle grinders.
I bought two of these magnetic stands a while ago and really like them. But sometimes they are in the way if I’m working on something bigger on my welding table.
After some research I started dawing a side panel to hold 5 grinders of various sizes. I cut a test piece to see if it would work.
Starting to bend the piece.
Checking the angle of my bend.
First test after clamping the test piece to my table. Works like a charm!
A view from the inside.
I made another piece, so I can store 10 angle grinders on the cart I want to build.
After drafting the cart and buying some casters, I cut all the steel tubing pieces.
Welding the top frame.
Welding the caps on the ends of the legs. My homemade leg clamp and “third hand” come in handy every time!
Welding the leg frames.
Tack welding the pieces together.
Cart frame all done.
After drilling some holes into the top frame, I mounted the top tray and side panels,
Here is a picture of one of the bolts inside the tray.
The tray will hold all the wrenches, guards, grips, that come with each grinder. The grinders fit very nicely, and allow enough room to reach into the tray.
Next step is coming up with a solution for power cord management! LOL!
